Prato Textile Museum is Italy’s largest centre for the study, conservation and exhibition of historic and contemporary textiles. Researches, exhibitions, educational activities, conferences and other cultural initiatives to enhance and communicate textile heritage are the main actions of the Prato Textile Museums mission.

An important part of this mission focuses on all those activities that enhance European textile heritage as a source of inspiration for the contemporary industry of fashion, as an added value and quality of new brands and products.

To reach this aim, the Museum participated to several European projects with an international partnership of textile and fashion museums, archives, design schools and universities and research centres.

Prato Textile Museum is also an active centre for the promotion of the local industrial area, a district which comprises around 7000 companies and employs 30.000 people.

Santo Tirso Municipality is part of the Porto Metropolitan Area, and is located at the centre of one of the most important economic regions of Portugal, an high industrialized region. Fashion industries are one of the branches at the centre of traditional specialisation of this region and creative industries are one of the recent challenges. Santo Tirso Municipality has developed,since 2008, the project “Fábrica de Santo Thyrso”, that corresponds to the reconversion of a former industrial textile space (created in 1898) into a cultural and creative hub, with a focus on fashion and design, including an incubator for fashion and design start ups (IMod), a business and innovation centre (CEI) and a facility for cultural events. The structure hosts the individual spaces for fashion designers projects, a foyer for exhibitions or media productions, laboratories for quick prototyping, space for small businesses in creative industries, and an exhibition and events space.

Proteko (with its trademark Nordiska Textilakademin)

a) is a Vocational educator in design, purchasing, sales, quality and other professions in the textile & fashion industry, with programs and courses for new and experienced professionals. Approx 150 students/year

b) is a project arena for the industry and textile areas giving the industry needed support. During 2017 leading projects such as konfektionsfabrik.se (a project for new swedes in textiles) and make.work/sweden (a project to support the local industry)

Proteko aims to increase profitability and development among companies and its employees through efforts that increase and broaden the textile-related skills.

Proteko shall also complement education received at the upper secondary and tertiary level, in the labor market education and in public and private sector consultancy. The foundation aims to establish and operate an independent resource and competence center for education and counseling to textile companies.

Established in 1945, the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź is a public university for all those who would like to enter a profession in the field of fine arts & design. The Academy includes the following faculties: Graphics and Painting; Textile Art and Fashion Design; Industrial and Interior Design; Visual Arts; Sculpture and Interactive Actions, it offers 7 courses & 15 artistic and design majors including nationwide unique programmes in fashion design, jewellery design & theatre, film and television techniques. The institution’s educational offer includes a wide variety of postgraduate courses & PhD studies. The Academy is also active in organization of exhibitions, prestige artistic contents & scientific conferences.The Academy was leader of the EU project „Fashion Promotion Center; Claster of textile & fashion sector”. The aim of the project was establishing co-operation and joint activities in the areas of culture, education, entrepreneurship and scientific research.

The City Council of Gironella is a local public authority. Its function is to provide services to its citizens. Gironella is a municipality with a high associative and cultural life promoted by the City Council mainly in collaboration with city and local associations. Gironella is located in the north of the province of Barcelona, is a rural and mountain town in the Pyrenees with 4.829 inhabitants. The municipality has a medieval historical heritage and an industrial heritage: the textile colonies.
The aim of the town hall is to reconvert the architectural heritage of the colonies for dynamic use of existing cultural activities as well as the promotion of industrial heritage as a source of inspiration for the promotion and innovation of contemporary art and strengthen the interaction between the heritage sector and the cultural and creative sector.
