PROJECT CREATEX JOINS THE EUROPEAN YEAR OF CULTURAL HERITAGE (EYCH)

The European Commission’s Cultural Agency recently approved Textile Heritage Inspiring Creatives Project (Createx) presented by the Prato Textile Museum Foundation in November 2017 as part of the tender for the Creative Europe programme and, in particular, in response to the 35/2017 call for proposals for cooperation project financing has been also related to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.

The European Year of Cultural Heritage aims to encourage as many people as possible to discover and get involved in Europe’s cultural heritage, strengthening the sense of belonging to a common European area, particularly for young people.

Cultural heritage represents a source of creativity for Europe: it has the capacity to underpin the cultural and creative sectors, including small and medium-sized enterprises, by providing inspiration for the creation of new cultural goods and contemporary art practice.

The motto of the year is: “our heritage: where the past meets the future” and Createx Project is precisely aimed at promoting cultural heritage as a source of inspiration for artistic contemporary creation and innovation and strengthen the interaction between the cultural heritage sector and other cultural and creative sectors.
